NetSuite is a Key Component For Oracle’s Cloud Growth Keynote Highlights SuiteWorld 2018
To the fanfare of pounding rock music, acrobats doing flips on trampolines, rain streaming down with messages embedded in the droplets, and a marching band performing live on stage, Oracle doubled down on NetSuite being its cloud growth engine. These are the highlights from my front-row seat at SuiteWorld 2018.
Highlighting customer growth:
Rachel Zoe–CEO, designer, stylist and editor–says, “NetSuite frees me up so that I can focus on style which is why I started my brand.” She shared her best advice with the crowd: “Know your strengths and recognize your weaknesses and surround yourself with great people who help you where you’re weak.”
NetSuite announced Growire, a new online community that encompasses websites, a grow lab, podcasts, and TV programming. Growire is a live active community of people. More information on Growire is coming on Thursday’s Keynote.
NetSuite helps companies grow faster:
Mark Hurd, CEO of Oracle says that the acquisition of NetSuite has gone exactly as they thought it would to achieve these goals:
- Grow the business
- Grow internationalization
- Grow micro-verticals
- Costs less and get more
- Provides for more innovation
- Is more secure
Mark said that they are ecstatic about NetSuite. He stated “the cloud is the megatrend” because working in the cloud:
According to Hurd, “our strategy is to out-invest the competition.” He stated that “A.I. is going to be embedded all over.” With the acquisition of NetSuite, Hurd said that “the cloud has changed things at Oracle. In the past large companies were our customers. Now we can service any size company. Big idea – any size company can have access to the top technology.”
Mark Hurd said that Corporate IT has created such a hairball and that suite in general are the platform that’s going to work for business going forward. You need to have systems that are engineered to work together.
NetSuite is the Future of Doing Business:
Jim McGeever, EVP NetSuite Global Business Unit, told Dave Hynek at the end of the Keynote, “It’s all about growing our customer’s businesses.” The SuiteWorld 2018 keynote emphasized Oracle’s continued investment in NetSuite and their addition of more distribution, more customers and more locations–without adding Oracle’s overhead.
My summary – I’ve been working with NetSuite since the platform was called NetLedger, that was 2003. I’m happy to report I’m more excited now than I have ever been to be helping clients with NetSuite.
